Family Therapy

Family therapy focuses on relationships, communication, and patterns within the family system. Families may seek therapy during periods of transition, conflict, stress, behavioural concerns, mental health challenges, or changes such as separation, blended families, or illness.

Rather than viewing one person as “the problem,” family therapy recognizes that challenges often exist within relational patterns. Sessions aim to improve understanding, clarify roles, strengthen communication, and support healthier ways of responding to one another.

Family therapy can involve all members or selected individuals, depending on needs and goals, and is guided by respect for each person’s experience and voice.

What to Expect in a Session:

  • A collaborative and structured conversation

  • Attention to family dynamics and patterns

  • Support for open, respectful communication

  • Practical strategies for day‑to‑day family life

Specialty Modalities May Include:

  • Family systems therapy

  • Structural and strategic family therapy

  • Attachment‑informed family work

  • Parenting support and consultation

  • Emotion‑focused family therapy
