I am a registered psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing thoughtful, evidence-
based care in a supportive and collaborative environment. My work is grounded in the
importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and a deep respect for each client’s unique needs,
experiences, and goals. I take an integrative, humanistic approach, supporting clients in ways
that align with their values while fostering meaningful and sustainable change.
Over the course of my practice, I have worked with a wide range of populations and concerns,
including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, addictions, and life transitions. My approach
integrates a number of approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), along with
trauma-focused modalities such as accelerated resolution therapy (ART), a form of EMDR, and
somatic experiencing, allowing me to tailor treatment to each person’s individual needs.
I draw on these approaches to help clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions,
and behaviours, while also developing practical strategies to navigate challenges more
effectively. I aim to meet each person with empathy, curiosity, and respect, whether they are
seeking support during a difficult time or working toward deeper self-understanding.
In addition to my clinical work, I am committed to ongoing professional development and
staying current with psychological research. Above all, I value fostering a collaborative and
trusting working alliance that supports meaningful, sustainable change.
On a more personal note, I have lived in Hinton since 2004 and value being part of a close-knit
community. I have been involved with Hinton Search and Rescue and Victim Services, which
has informed my commitment to supporting others during difficult times. Outside of my practice,
I enjoy time with my family—I am married with three children and grandchildren—and
spending time outdoors, including trekking and gardening, with a strong appreciation for the
surrounding mountains.
