Jennifer Russell

I have extensive experience in treating complex intergenerational PTSD trauma. This focus has given me experience in systemic family interactional challenges, family violence, sexual abuse, addiction, and various mental health issues. I have worked with First Nations People at the Mamowichihitowin Program for 18 years and support those in healing from intergenerational trauma utilizing non-colonial ways. I am skilled in providing relationship therapy and individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults. I am passionate and continually learning from clients while educating myself in adhering to best practices and non-colonial approaches. I look at healing through the lens of the medicine wheel and the continual finding of balance in one’s mental, spiritual, physical and emotional self. I am skilled in utilizing narrative therapy, EMDR (Eye- Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems and Somatic processing. I continue to honour all those that have walked on the path of healing and feel blessed to sit with people of all ages. I live in Jasper National Park with my children and partner and enjoy time in nature, cooking, yoga, reading and extended family time.
